PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of preventing looseness when a sliding door is closed and improving the silentness when the washing machine is operated. SOLUTION: The washing machine comprises a rib 10 (an example of a first contact part) disposed in the sliding door 4, and a rib presser 11 (an example of a second contact part) for pressing the sliding door 4 in contact with the rib 10 in the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the sliding door 4 when the sliding door 4 is closed. With this structure, when the sliding door 4 is closed, the sliding door 4 is retained in the pressed state in the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the sliding door 4 by the contact of the rib 10 with the rib presser 11, so that the looseness of the sliding door 4 can be prevented.
