PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for modulating bone conduction which alleviate uncomfortable feeling of a patient due to noises, such as noises of cutting a tooth or the like, without wearing earplugs or headphones that hinder communication between a doctor and the patient. SOLUTION: The apparatus for modulating bone conduction 1 comprises a memory means 3 for storing sound data of air-conducted sound due to air conduction, a data generating means 4 for generating air-conducted sound modulating data for modulating the air-conducted sound on the basis of the sound data, and a bone conduction speaker 5 for transmitting bone-conducted sound to the auditory organ of a human on the basis of the air-conducted sound modulation data.
