PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the adsorption of odor components, foreign matters and impurities without increase in the number of parts and the regeneration of the adsorbing capacity, eventually the performance of cooking the rice tastefully by releasing the odor components, foreign matters and impurities adsorbed. SOLUTION: The rice cooker has a body 1, a carbon sintered pot 5 which is basically made of a carbon sintered material with its outer surface undergoing a waterproof treatment 5a and is detachably housed into the body 1 for thermally cooking foods, heating coils 3a and 3b which are disposed at the lower part of the body 1 and induces an eddy current to the carbon sintered pot 5 for heating and a controller 21 which controls the electric energization of the heating coils 3a and 3b when given a cleaning command to carry out the cleaning operation for boiling for a prescribed period of time.
