摘要

Disclosed is an alkaline dry cell containing nickel oxyhydroxide and manganese dioxide as positive electrode active materials. In this alkaline dry cell, a solid solution of nickel oxyhydroxide containing at least manganese and cobalt is used, and the manganese content is set at from 5.2 × 10^-2 to 7.5× 10^-2 mole and the cobalt content is set at from 0.5 × 10^-2 to 2.0 × 10^-2 mole per 1 mole of nickel oxyhydroxide for suppressing polarization during high-load pulse discharge while maintaining excellent high-load discharge characteristics. Consequently, operational stability of digital devices can be improved, while obtaining high reliability in leakage resistance and safety under short circuit conditions.
