<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device in which a CPU transfers/checks correction data with one command and the load of memory data modification for display can be lightened. <P>SOLUTION: When the CPU issues a command making a memory IF2 check memory data, a data comparison section 22 compares data in an internal memory 4 with data in an external memory 5 during a non-display period of image data and outputs an err_data signal to the CPU for a data discrepancy. Further, a check sum comparison section 24 compares check sum data from a check sum arithmetic section 23 with check sum data in the external memory 5 and outputs an err_sum signal to the CPU for a discrepancy.
