<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for holding an IC tag capable of easily recovering the IC tag, and an IC tag holding packaging material. <P>SOLUTION: The packaging material for holding the IC tag is a packaging material having at least side faces (1, 2, 3 and 4), flaps (6 and 7), and a jointing margin (5) if necessary, and in the packaging material for holding the IC tag, at least a part of them has tongue-like parts (5a and 5b) for holding the IC tag.
