<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warehousing shelf determining method for improving working efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of shelves are formed in each of a plurality of storage racks arranged in a storage installation, and a shelf weight is set on each of the shelves. In warehousing, whether there are or not a stock shelf where articles of the same type as that of warehoused articles are already warehoused, out of the plurality of shelves, is determined (S1). When there is the stock shelf, an empty shelf whose shelf weight is smaller than that of the stock shelf and has the smallest difference from that of the stock shelf is searched (S2), and whether there is or not a corresponding shelf is determined (S3). When there is the corresponding shelf, the shelf is determined as a warehousing shelf (S4). On the other hand, when there is no corresponding shelf, the empty shelf whose shelf weight is greater than that of the stock shelf and has the smallest difference from that of the stock shelf is determined as the warehousing shelf (S5).
