PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the acoustic characteristics of a linear guide device reciprocating at a high speed in a short distance. SOLUTION: As a lubricating oil, a polyα-olefin with a kinematic viscosity of 25-95 mm<SP>2</SP>/s at 40°C is used. A paste-like material for molding an oil-containing polymer which contains 20-80 mass% of the lubricating oil is prepared. The material is supplied to the concave cylindrical part of a heating part. The heated material is molded into the shape of a seal 20 by a method for pressing the material by a plunger engaging with the cylindrical part to make the material flow to the concave molding part of a mold. The obtained seal 20 can demonstrate high self-lubricating properties when the linear guide device fitted with the seal 20 reciprocates at a high speed in a short distance.
