PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program recommendation apparatus for recommending programs congenial to user's preference that properly recommends proper programs for a plurality of users viewing the programs at the same time. SOLUTION: The program recommendation apparatus for recommending the programs congenial to the user's preference includes: a user identification section for identifying a set of users viewing programs at the same time; a profile management section for managing profile information items of the users; and a recommended program discrimination section for using the user information items managed by the profile management section to discriminate recommended programs, and the recommended program discrimination section recommends programs suitable for the set of the users identified by the user identification section by using the respective profile information items managed by the user profile management section.
