An outboard motor enabling a reduction in weight, enabling the easy molding therefor, and enabling a reduction in resistance against the propulsion of a ship. The outboard motor (5) comprises a case (10) extending in a roughly vertical direction and supportable on a hull side, an engine supported on the upper end part of the case (10), a propeller supported on the lower end part of the case (10), and a drive shaft (34) stored in the upper side internal space (30) of the case (10), supported on the case (10) rotatably around the roughly vertical axis (31) thereof, and having an upper end part connected to the engine in conjunction with each other and a lower end part connected to the propeller in conjunction with each other. At least a part of the upper side of the case (10) is formed of an extrusion-molded product (44).
