GENE INVOLVED IN SILICON UPTAKE AND USE THEREOF

摘要

A gene involved in silicon uptake is identified from a rice mutant having low silicon uptake (mutant 1si2) by positional cloning, and isolated as a novel gene. A transformant having a gene promoting silicon uptake shows a resistance to a stress that inhibits the growth of a rice plant. Thus, a gene involved in silicon uptake which has been failed to identify up to now and an application of the gene can be provided.
