PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration proof device which can increase a deformation restoring force of a house against an instantaneous and heavy vertical or horizontal oscillation applied to the house in the beginning of an earthquake, so as to prevent a collapse of the house. SOLUTION: Within the house structural frame 6, which is composed of a through-column 2, a pipe column 3, a lateral frame member 4 and a sill 5, a vibration proof device 1 is provided in such a way as to diagonally connect the lateral frame member 4 at one end in a longitudinal direction and the sill 5 at the other end in the longitudinal direction. The vibration proof device 1 is constituted of a vibration proof mechanism 8 mounted on the lateral frame member 4, a receiving metal fitting 9 mounted on the sill 5 and a brace member 10 connecting the vibration proof mechanism 8 and the receiving metal fitting 9.
