The invention relates to a hydrostatic profile rail guide with a guide carriage (1), which is hydrostatically supported on a guide rail (2) with a mid-surface (3) running along the longitudinal axis of the profile rail guide and upper bearing surfaces (5) arranged to both longitudinal sides of the mid-surface (3) which are inclined towards the mid-surface (3), provided with lower bearing surfaces (6) beneath each upper bearing surface (5) inclined with relation to the upper bearing surface (5) and to the mid-surface (3). Viewed in cross-section through the profile rail guide an imaginary first straight line (G1) parallel to the mid-surface (3), an imaginary second straight line (G2) parallel to the upper bearing surfaces (5) and a third imaginary straight line (G3) parallel to the lower bearing surface (6) define a triangle in which an angle alpha (a) is formed between the first and the second straight lines (G1, G2) and an angle gamma (?) is formed between the first and the third straight lines (G1, G3),the angle alpha (a) having values of 10° to 45° inclusive and the angle gamma (?) having values of 20° to 55° inclusive.
