A tilting mechanism comprises a first component 10 intended to mount a flat panel display and a second component 11 intended to be secured to a support. The first component 10 has first and second pivots 27, 28 and the second component 11 has first and second elongated slots 25, 26 into which the first and second pivots 27, 28 respectively are received, so that the first component 10 can be moved relative to the second component 11 to adjust, in use, the tilt of the flat panel display. In use, an upper one of the elongated slots 25 extends at an angle upwardly and forwardly of the second component 11, whilst the lower one of the elongated slots 26 extends upright or upwardly and rearwardly of the second component 11. The flat panel display may be a computer monitor, or for a liquid crystal or plasma television screen.
