Press fit connecting element has a pole (2) and press fit line section (4) whereby press fit line section possess arise zone (8) additional to inlet zone (6). The outer diameter of the press fit line section increases in direction of header (3) up to maximum outer diameter whereby the arise zone is arranged outside the inlet zone. The outer diameter of arise zone of the press fit line section is arranged at a distance to the header. An independent claim is also included for the method.
