Producing organically modified siloxanes and silanes by reacting siloxanes and/or silanes having at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom with compounds having one double bond in the presence of a noble metal catalyst comprises performing the reaction in water. An independent claim is also included for aqueous reaction mixtures produced as above.
