A device and a method for controlling decrease of an inrush current and flicker of inductive load of a compressor are provided to compensate an inrush current of an initiation compensation condenser by driving a relay for driving the compressor system instead of using any NTC resistance element or fixing elements. A device for controlling decrease of inrush current and flicker of inductive load of a compressor includes a power supply(101) for supplying a driving voltage to the compressor(110), and a current restraining part(121) such as a triac connected to a main coil(111) of the compressor driven by the driving voltage for reducing a current. A first signal sensing part(140) is connected to input/output end of the current restraining part for applying a voltage change signal of the main coil to a microcomputer(107). Supporting parts such as a driving condenser and an initiation compensation condenser(131,133) are connected to an auxiliary coil(113) of the compressor corresponding to the first signal sensing part for supporting initiation compensation and operation of the compressor. A second signal sensing part(150) is connected to the supporting part in parallel to apply a voltage change signal of the auxiliary coil to the microcomputer. The microcomputer carries out control for the initiation and driving of the compressor, and compares the voltage change signals of the first and second signal sensing parts to determine whether the compressor is in operation or not, thereby sensing abnormal operation of the compressor.
