Provided is a method for preparing an artificial marble chip without sedimentation which expresses a stereoscopic texture with good transparency, durability and dye dispersion and has improvements in discoloration and concave phenomenon. The method for preparing an artificial marble chip comprises admixing an inorganic filling agent with a particle size of 1-5 micrometers to a resin composition comprised of 50-70 wt% of an unsaturated polyester resin and 30-50 wt% of a styrenic monomer, and controlling the viscosity of mixture to an extent of 1,500-2,500 cps, followed by curing. In the method, the inorganic filling agent is selected from magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, aluminium hydroxide, calcium carbonate, talc, silica and alumina. |
