The invention relates to a method for instructing a user during the operation of an appliance (1). Said method comprises the step of issuing information (3) via at least one output device (4) for instructing the user with regard to the operation of the appliance. The method also comprises the additional step of identifying a control element (2) of the device, which is to be taken into account by the user during the instruction of the latter by means of at least one marker element.
