Compounds of formula I (see formula I) act as nonpeptidyl platelet aggregation inhibitor are provided wherein A, D, G, N, T, U, W and X are as defined herein. These inhibitors potently inhibit fibrinog en binding to the GPIIbIIIa receptor and are provided in therapeutic compositio ns for the treatment of diseases for which blocking platelet aggregation is indicated. These nonpeptidyl inhibitors are provided in combination with thrombolytics and anticoagulants.
