Pharmaceutical compositions of bisphosphonic acids, and salts thereof, are p repared by wet granulation tablet formulation. These pharmaceutical compositions are useful in the treatment of disturbances invo lving calcium or phosphate metabolism, in particular, th e treatment and prevention of diseases involving bone resorption, especially o steoporosis, Paget's disease, malignant hypercalcemia, a nd metastatic bone disease. These compositions are prepared without the additi on of binder; instead, the drug itself acts as a binder.
