A device for blocking illegal usage of a mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to enable a user to directly transmit an SMS(Short Message Service) message to the user's own mobile communication terminal in case the terminal is lost so as to prevent another person from maliciously using the terminal. An SMS receiver(32) receives an SMS message. A memory(36) has a boot code unit(38) where boot data of a mobile communication terminal is recorded/stored, and stores/provides a main program and data which includes mail. A message reader(34) decides whether the received message is a general SMS message or a burglarproof message consisting of special characters, and the message reader(34) deletes the data of the boot code unit(38) under control of a controller in case of the burglarproof message. |
