The present invention is related to industries intended to provide a rough surface to plastic pieces, such as industries for manufacturing metallised plastic pieces, including the automotive industry, and the electric device industry, amongst others. More particularly, the invention refers to a part of the process for manufacturing plastic metallised pieces for manufacturing industries. The process of the present invention is advantageous over state-of-the-art processes in that it has a reduced environmental impact; it uses resistant raw materials which are permanently reused, residues thus generated being harmless and limited. The present process is characterised in that it comprises the following steps: 1) cleaning the piece to be treated in order to remove dust and impurities, 2) bringing water and titanium dioxide particles into contact with the surface to be treated and 3) applying UV radiation to said surface until the required roughness results are obtained, the process being p erformed under room conditions.
