<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable sound field reproduction in the form of expressing directivity of a virtual sound source. <P>SOLUTION: The measurement of impulse responses made to correspond to each of a plurality of speakers for measurement arranged on a first closed surface on the basis of the sound produced by the speakers having directivity is performed and each transfer function is determined. Arithmetic processing relating to the input sound signal is performed by using the transfer functions. The information in the directivity direction of the sound produced by the speaker having the directivity can be included in the sound signal for reproduction thus obtained by the arithmetic processing based on the transfer functions. Accordingly, when the sound signal for reproduction is output from each of the speakers for reproduction arranged in positional relations geometrically equivalent to the arrangement positions of the plurality of the speakers for measurement arranged on, for example, the first closed surface in the environment separate from that of the environment where the sound signal for the reproduction is measured. The sound field (reverberation and sound image orientation) of the measurement environment can be reproduced in the form of expressing the directivity of the virtual sound source within a space surrounded by the speakers for the reproduction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
