<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device for improving the distinctiveness of selected coordinate positions when selecting coordinate positions on a screen. <P>SOLUTION: A coordinate operating position by an operation pin and a coordinate detecting position in an X-Y axial direction are set as different positions, and a coordinate operating input to the X-Y axial direction by the operation pin is transmitted through a link mechanism 14 to a coordinate position detection sensor in a case 7. The pointing device is provided with an operation load generating mechanism 41 for applying an operation load to an operation pin when selecting a pointer position by operating the operation coordinate position of the operation pin.
