PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial agent consisting of silver-containing aluminum sulfate hydroxide particles, excellent in kneading extrusion filter-passing through characteristics in the point of antibacterial resin-forming process by using an extruder on using the antibacterial agent in an objective to be made as antibacterial such as a resin, etc., and also needless to say, excellent in antibacterial property in the point of characteristics of the antibacterial substance, also capable of imparting excellent properties in dispersibility, transparency and white-coloring property. SOLUTION: This antibacterial agent consists of silver-containing aluminum sulfate hydroxide particles expressed by formula (1); [Ag<SB>a</SB>B<SP>1+</SP><SB>b-a</SB>]<SB>b</SB>[M<SB>3-c</SB>Al<SB>c</SB>](SO<SB>4</SB>)<SB>y</SB>(OH)<SB>z</SB>pH<SB>2</SB>O, having spherical, disc or rectangular particle forms, and also similar particle forms and sizes. The antibacterial resin composition containing the same, and the antifungal agent, antibacterial deodorizing agent, antibacterial paper, agrochemical and cosmetic containing the same are also provided.
