PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper lid for container, which is formed from a single sheet of paper as a base material, has excellent shape retention and appearance, and high productivity, and is provided with projections formed inside of the circular side of the lid fitted with the opening of the container fits so as to prevent the paper lid from being easily detached from the opening of the food container. SOLUTION: The paper lid for the container, which includes a top plate 1 and a circular side 2 integrally extending almost vertically from the peripheral edge of the top plate is obtained by draw-molding a blank sheet consisting of the single sheet of paper as the base material. In the paper lid for the container, lines of projections are formed on the internal face of the circular side 2 by an embossing process so that they are approximately identical in height.
