PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid switch for a washing machine of a new structure where the switch operates reliably when a lid is opened. SOLUTION: A lid cover 42 operating linked with opening and closing of the lid 22 is provided with: a first abutting protrusion 48 made to abut on an armature 30a for one contact from a side opposite to a side where an armature 30b for the other contact is positioned when the lid 22 is closed; and a second abutting protrusion 50 made to abut on the armature 30b for the other contact from the side of the armature 30a for the one contact when the lid 22 is opened.
