Process for production of a wear-, heat-, corrosion- and oxidation resistant abrasive protective coating of a component, especially of a turbine, especially gas turbine, or aircraft engine involving:deposition of a base coating in McrAlY by a cementing method and drying followed by electrodeposition of a second coating on the base coating consisting of a McrAlY-matrix, e.g. in powder form, containing embedded hard particles. An independent claim is included for a protective coating as described above .
