<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system that is easily adaptable to upsizing, that eliminates nonuniformity of brightness in the front direction without a precise alignment between a light source and another member, and that provides advantages in increasing productivity and reducing thickness. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system is characterized in that, letting g(X)=f(X-D)+f(X)+f(X+D), where D is the center-to-center distance between linear light sources, H is the distance between a light control member and the linear light sources, and f(X) is a function expressing the intensity of light emission in a normal direction at a position coordinate X in an X direction (light source position: X=0), under the condition that -D/2≤X≤D/2, the ratio between g(X)<SB>min</SB>and g(X)<SB>max</SB>is at least 0.6, the minimum value X<SB>min</SB>of X is within a range of -3.0D≤X<SB>min</SB>≤-0.5D, the maximum value X<SB>max</SB>of X is within a range of 0.5D≤X<SB>max</SB>≤3.0D, and the shape of a cross section taken in the X direction of an arbitrary convex portion consists of (2N+1) pieces of regions having different inclinations expressed by a specific relationship determined from D, H and X. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
