摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy and to improve front face luminance by improving use efficiency of light even when a prism array side is a light incidence side, in a prism array sheet, an edge light type surface illuminant, and a transmission type picture display device. <P>SOLUTION: In the prism array sheet 10 whose one face has a prism array 1 on which a plurality of prisms are arranged, fine ruggedness 2 in which the period of projected parts is equal to or shorter than the wavelength of light is formed on a prism slope 1i becoming the light incidence side of the prism as an antireflection processing and such antireflection processing is not performed to the slope 1r of the prism becoming a reflection face in the prism. In the edge light type surface illuminant, one or more prism array sheets are arranged on the light exiting face side of a light guide plate while directing the prism array side toward the light guide plate side.
