<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of rapidly and reliably detecting a person falling down from a platform and reporting the fall by a simple means, and a device capable of rapidly performing the rescue and the restoration by reliably reporting what part of the platform is involved with the accident. <P>SOLUTION: The device detecting and reporting a person fallen from a platform 3 of a station onto a track 1 side has a detection means 7 for emitting the detection signal such as the linear laser beam R along an edge 5 and a reporting means 8 for reporting the presence of the fallen person based on the output of the detection means 7 on a lower portion of the track side edge 5 of a floor 4 of the platform 3.
