PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double feeding detecting device capable of detecting double feeding even in paper delivered in the first place. SOLUTION: This double feeding detecting device has a thickness detecting means detecting the thickness of the carried cut paper 1, a rigidity detecting means detecting flexural rigidity of the carried paper 1, and a double feeding determining means 38 determining whether or not to be the double feeding by comparing the thickness of the paper 1 detected by the thickness detecting means and a flexural rigidity value of the paper 1 detected by the rigidity detecting means with a threshold value of the thickness and the rigidity of the paper set on the basis of the thickness and the flexural rigidity value at its time when stacking its paper 1 by one sheet.
