PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply produce a roof material which is prevented from being hurt even when it is transported/stored while being piled. SOLUTION: In a method for producing the roof material A, a molding material 2 is press-formed with the use of a pair of molds 1. By press-forming the material 2 after a buffer member 3 is installed in one mold of the pair, the buffer member 3 and the molding material 2 are integrated while part of the buffer member 3 is exposed.
