Provided is a light emitting unit which can efficiently dissipate heat generated in a light emitting element (36), in a small space in a horizontal direction. The light emitting element is provided with at least one electrode member (32a, 32b) having a high heat conductivity and a low resistance, and one or more flip chip type light emitting elements (36) wherein an anode side or a cathode side is connected to the electrode members (32a, 32b). The electrode members (32a, 32b) extend in a longitudinal direction, and heat generated in the light emitting element (36) is dissipated in the longitudinal direction of the electrode members (32a, 32b). |
