The shock strut has a pneumatic spring, whose spring area partly wraps a shock-mount. The shock-mount has a piston rod, which is movable axially in a cylinder. A reciprocating shaft seal locks the cylinder toward the pneumatic spring. The volume is compensated and retracts and extends with the piston rod by a balancing area filled with an absorbing medium. The balancing area (35) has absorbing medium in the cylinder (21) which is linked to a gas pad (37). The gas pad is connected with the spring area (15) of the pneumatic spring (3).
