PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator capable of surely separating a protective sheet stuck to a master roll of a plastic card without damaging the master roll itself. SOLUTION: This separator automatically separates the protective sheet stuck to at least one surface of the master roll of the plastic card; and is characterized by having a separation assisting mechanism part 200 including a suction pad 220 sucking the protective sheet of a master roll tip part carried successively, a suction pad moving mechanism 230 inclining a sucking surface of the suction pad sucking the protective sheet to the master roll, a separating separator 250 inserted into clearance between the protective sheet and the master roll tip part partially separated by an inclination of the suction pad by the suction pad moving mechanism 230, and a separating separator moving mechanism 260 separating the protective sheet of the whole master roll tip part area by moving the separating separator 250 in the width direction of the master roll.
