<p>A call acceptance control method in a packet based communication system is provided to separate a new call from a handoff call and borrow a bandwidth from a shared band, a reserved band and the other service according to characteristics of each service by classifying the services by type, thereby ensuring handoff and QoS(Quality of Service). A call acceptance control method comprises the following steps of: if a call acceptance request is received from a user, determining whether the rest bandwidth generated by subtracting the currently-used bandwidth of a shared channel from a bandwidth of the shared channel is equal to or greater than a bandwidth requested in the call acceptance request(301,303); if so, approving the call acceptance request(308); if not so, determining whether a type of a call is a handoff call or a new call(305); if the call is the new call, deciding whether to accept the call if bandwidth assignment is possible by borrowing a bandwidth according to types of each service(334,336); and if the call is the handoff call, determining whether to accept the call or not if the bandwidth assignment is possible by borrowing a bandwidth from a shared band, a reserved band, and the other service according to a service and bandwidth resource conditions(311,320).</p> |
