<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lymphotoxin-β, a lymphocyte membrane type protein, or a complex formed between lymphotoxin-βand other peptide such as lymphotoxin-αand a complex comprising multiple subunits of lymphotoxin-β, and set the LT-αformed within the cell hold on the cell surface by using these proteins and complexes, where the LT-α/LT-βcomplex may act as an inflammation regulating agent, a tumor growth inhibiting agent, a T cell inhibiting agent, a T cell activating agent, an autoimmune disease regulating agent, or an HIV inhibiting agent, furthermore, the antitumor activity of the LT-α/LT-βcomplex may be delivered to tumor cells by tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) transfected with the gene for LT-β. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the lymphotoxin-β, a lymphocyte membrane-type polypeptide comprising SEQ ID NO:2.
