<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-stopping device and a water-stopping method having a simple structure which facilitates the enlargement of the diameter, and which have a fixing band of high durability. <P>SOLUTION: The water-stopping method performs the stopping of water at a connection of a water pipe by using a flexible joint. The stopping of water is performed by bringing the flexible joint into intimate contact with the water pipe by a pressed part and a pressure-lacking part. The pressed part is pressed by applying pressure exceeding a predetermined level to the flexible joint, and the pressure-lacking part laid between the pressed parts is pressed with pressure smaller than or equal to a predetermined level. The water-stopping device has the flexible joint, which is arranged at the connection of the water pipe, and the fixing band which presses the flexible joint against the pipe wall of the water pipe. The fixing band of the water-stopping device has two or more arc-shaped bodies and diameter-enlarging members laid between the arc-shaped bodies. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
