PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method thereof, a program, and a storage medium which enable a user to recognize a main color area when subjecting a part of an image to image processing. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 100 includes a display device 105 for displaying an application picture 200 provided with a color list box 203 and a computer 102 for executing initialization processing at the start time. Area division processing is executed in the initialization processing at the start time to change the sequence of colors of a color list, which are displayed in the color list box 203 so that they are selected by the user, on the basis of feature quantities calculated with respect to respective divided areas.
