PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent that imparts to a biodegradable resin a permanent antistatic property without damaging its biodegradability, because a conventional method to impart to a biodegradable resin such as polylactic acid an antistatic property has such a problem wherein the method is effective in giving antistaticity, but damages an inherent biodegradability of a biodegradable resin and makes biodegradation of the resin in the natural environment difficult, and to provide an antistatic biodegradable resin composition containing the antistatic agent. SOLUTION: The antistatic biodegradable resin composition comprises a biodegradable polyester resin (B) containing an antistatic agent (A) comprised of an ester group-containing polymer having a volume intrinsic resistivity of 1×10<SP>6</SP>-1×10<SP>10</SP>Ωcm, and a ratio of the polymer to the resin (B) in terms of ester group concentration per unit weight is 0.1/1 to 0.9/1.
