PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element that exhibits satisfactory light emission brightness, suffers less voltage rise and less dark spots when driven at a constant current, and has high stability against time under high temperature and high humidity conditions, and to provide a display device and a lighting system using the same. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element has an electrode and one or more organic layers provided on a substrate, wherein at least one of the organic layers is a light emitting layer containing a dopant, a coating liquid prepared for forming the light emitting layer has a viscosity of 0.5 to 10 cP, and the one or more organic layers contain 10<SP>-2</SP>to 10<SP>3</SP>ppm of organic solvent.
