PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing apparatus that performs efficient stabilization. SOLUTION: A flow system is constructed in such a manner that in a plurality of stabilizing tanks 23, a stabilizing liquid (STB) supplied to a downstream side in the conveying direction of a photographic paper P is sent from the downstream side to the upstream side in the conveying direction of the photographic paper P by allowing the liquid to overflow a wall W placed in a middle between adjacent stabilizing tanks 23. A conveying passage having auxiliary rollers 45 is formed to convey the photographic paper P from the stabilizing tank 23 in the upstream side in the conveying direction to the stabilizing tank 23 in the downstream side in the conveying direction while bringing the paper into contact with the stabilizing liquid (STB) overflowing on the wall W.
