PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent URAT1 (urate transporter 1) activity inhibitor effective in treatment, etc., of pathological conditions in which uric acid is associated such as hyperuricemia, gouty tophus, acute gouty arthritis, chronic gouty arthritis, gouty kidney, urolithiasis, renal function disorder, coronary artery disease and ischemic heart disease. SOLUTION: The URAT1 activity inhibitor comprises the nitrogen-containing condensed ring compound represented by general formula [1] or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an active ingredient.
