PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium carrying device capable of eliminating inconvenience in a double-side recording mode. SOLUTION: This recording medium carrying device carries a recording medium by electrostatically attracting the recording medium on a carrier belt 2, and has forced discharge means 5 and 6 forcibly discharging the recording medium to a position sandwiched by its nip part in a state of leaving the recording medium finished with first surface recording on the carrier belt 2 on the downstream side in the recording medium carrying direction in the first surface recording to the carrier belt 2.
