PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle tube constituting an axle of a vehicle such as a truck capable of mitigating the stress concentration exerted on the inner circumferential side of an opening end face of an upper member when the wall thickness of the upper member is thinner than that of a lower member. SOLUTION: In the axle tube in which opening end faces of upper and lower members of cylindrical halves overlap each other so that the outer circumferences thereof are agreed with each other, and the opening end faces are welded from the outer circumferential side, the wall thickness of the upper member is thinner than that of the lower member, a thinned wall portion in which the wall thickness on the opening end face side of the lower member is gradually reduced is formed on the inner circumference of the lower member, and an inner end of the opening end face of the lower member is agreed with the inner end of the opening end face of the upper member.
