PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body front part structure capable of preventing damage to a shroud panel and vehicle equipment by avoiding contact of a bumper reinforcement with the shroud panel and the vehicle equipment as much as possible by lengthening a distance until the bumper reinforcement is brought into contact with the shroud panel when the bumper reinforcement is retreated at collision of the vehicle, and increasing an engine room by bringing the bumper reinforcement and the shroud panel close to each other. SOLUTION: A recessed part 9 is provided on a rear surface part of the bumper reinforcement 4 opposed to a front side of a vertical frame part 13 of the shroud panel 5. Thereby, a distance until the bumper reinforcement 4 is brought into contact with the vertical frame part 13 of the shroud panel 5 is lengthened and contact of the bumper reinforcement 4 with the vertical frame part 13 of the shroud panel 5 is avoided.
