The method involves measuring material coat application at a casting part to be examined for calibration. A piece wise linear approximation function of correlation between the material coat and gray scale value in an x-ray image of casting part is determined. The reflection of the linear approximation function is carried out at an axis, on which the gray scale value change is assigned.
