HYBRID SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

A hybrid system capable of reducing the size of a rotary machine in a heavy machine such as a shovel car and a method of controlling the hybrid system. The hybrid system comprises rotating shaft parts (11, 12), an engine (2), the rotary machine (3), a driven part (4), a motor (6), a control part (7), and a clutch (8). The engine (2) and the rotary machine (3) are connected to the rotating shaft part (11), and the driven part (4) and the motor (6) are connected to the rotating shaft part (12). The rotary machine (3) can realize the functions of both a motor and a generator. The clutch (8) are installed between the rotating shaft part (11) and the rotating shaft part (12) so that these rotating shaft parts can be brought into contact and non-contact with each other. The control part (7) brings the rotating shaft part (11) and the rotating shaft part (12) into contact with the clutch (8), and functions the rotary machine (3) as the motor to rotate the rotating shaft part (11) by the rotary machine (3). Concurrently, the rotating shaft part (12) is rotated by the motor (6) to start the engine (2).
